The Mask You Wear

With the second wave of Covid-19 hitting Singapore, government has urged everyone to wear mask with high filtration capabilities.

We thought the infographics provided by Straits Times is pretty good, so we are sharing it here too.

It is important to choose the correct mask or it will defeat the purpose of the mask.

Summarising the important points:

1. Go for mask which has 95% bacterial filtration efficacy

The Sars-CoV-2 is only 0.07-0.09 microns, if the filtration efficiency is not good enough, the virus can still go through the filter. Our silicone mask has been tested for as N95 equivalent, so you can feel safe wearing it.

2. Ensure the mask is fitting

No matter how good a mask is, if the fitting is wrong, it can be a disaster. If it is too loose, the aerosols can still get in from all the openings that does not have a filter, and if it is too tight, it will be very uncomfortable, or even painful for user. Do you know our silicone mask comes with different sizes to fit to the the different facial shape and sizes? Because it is silicone, it will seal off any openings if worn properly.

3. Keep your mask clean at all times.

If there is a need to remove your mask, make sure not to touch the inner side of the mask, as it might get contaminated. Do not leave them lying around either. Keep them clean by keeping them in a pouch. Make sure to have a disinfectant spray with you in case you find your mask is contaminated!

 4. Check the authenticity of the mask.

Don't just believe because anyone say so, when in doubt, always request to check for the relevant documentation whether if it is BFE95 or any other claims. Similarly, if you have any doubt about our products, feel free to contact us.
